I got it about 5 months ago. It had flowers then. But they eventually died so I cut them off. Now it has only grown new leaves, but no new flowers. Do they only bloom at certain times of the year?
And no, it isn%26#039;t in too big of a pot. The pot I replanted it was only maybe an inch bigger if that.
Why doesn%26#039;t my peace lily grow new flowers?
Well, peace lillies grow best in the shade and usually don%26#039;t need alot of sun (but they still need it!). They like warm places, so if you happen to live in the north and it%26#039;s sitting right by your door, I suggest removing it to a more warmer place. They are also kinda sensitive to chlorinated water so let your watering can stand overnight before watering your plant.
The most likely culprit in this case seems like lack of fertilizer. It apparently takes just a few months for the soil to be depleted of nutrients -%26gt; in your case, used up for growing leaves.
I suggest you get a fertilizer with extra PHOSPHATE in it. Phosphate usually encourages blooming in any flowering plant. Give it a try.
Reply:How about plant food for your flowers and it will help you out too o,k.?
Reply:Plants tend to flower because they feel threatened......and they want to have kids before they die. Okay, that sounds silly, but the flowers contain the seeds. Let it dry out a couple of times just to the point where it starts to wilt, keep a careful eye on it.......with any luck and a little time it will flower again.
Reply:ask them and they will come
Reply:Because you%26#039;re bad at everything
Reply:more sun
Reply:its not the pot or the soil if you have used potting soil.. peace lillies dont like sitting in front of windows..they will grow but not thrive...peace lillies need to be on a table maybe near the center of a room..not complete dark all the time but minimal sunshine..they also bloom at night...they do like light just not direct sunshine..try close to a window with a blind closed
