Pussywillows are very invasive %26amp; fast growing, they will tear up a foundation faster than anything. They are a woody shrub, so it is no surprise that they have woody growth. Harvest the shoots in the spring while the buds are soft %26amp; fuzzy, use them for dingus day, or keep them for dried flower arrangements.

get rid of it. On your day lilies - divide them and replant in different areas of
the yard or give to neighbors.
