Plant question...I got an Easter lily this year. Do I let it dry out and plant it in the fall?

Someone told me that they only bloom every other year...is that true? Thanks

When the plant dies.. there will be a bulb left in the dirt. You can either keep it in there.. or take it out and dry it ( I keep mine in the dirt and pot it came in. Then next year it will grow a new plant.. You can also take out the bulb and carefully break off the other bulbs that are attached to it. ( I call them babies ).. Plant them in new pots.. I have 8 from one plant so far. They bloom every year.. At least mine do.
Reply:No - if the bloom has faded, plant it in the yard and keep it growing as long as it will. If your winters are not harsh, they can be kept in the ground, otherwise dig up and store, then replant in spring.
